The Azerbaijan’s Minister of Justice (MJ) Fikret Mamedov received on 29 July a European Court Human Rights judge from Austria Elizabeth Steiner.
During the talk the MJ head informed the guest in detail of the situation in
the human rights field in Azerbaijan and measures on the improvement of the country’s judicial system, Trend reports.
Having pointed out at the fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe, Mamedov noted the significance of the meeting with the chairman of the European Human Rights Court (EHRC), Yulius Wildhaber. During the meeting the issues of cooperation between the Justice Ministries of Azerbaijan and Austria have been also touched upon.
Steiner, in her turn, voiced the readiness of the Austrian side to support moves in the judicial system reforming in Azerbaijan, having invited Mamedov to Strasbourg “for more comprehensive familiarization with the EHRC activities”.
