Musavat Party not to dispatch its rep to CEC through casting of lots

Politics Materials 14 February 2006 19:04 (UTC +04:00)

Musavat Party will not agree to dispatch its representatives to the Central Elections Committee through casting of lots, Arif Hajyly, the deputy chairman of the party, told Trend.

He noted that the party insisted on formation of the election committees on the parity basis. Musavat is not satisfied with this method. We regard mechanic application of equal rights to these parties as wrong. All parties, presented and unpresented at the Milli Majlis [Parliament], must dispatch their representatives to CEC on the parity basis. OSCE and CE Venetian Commision also require this. In my opinion, the authorities will have to form election committees on parity basis of the political forces of the society, he added.

He also stated that the party would nominate candidates from all 10 constituencies in the by-elections. Next week candidates will address to constituency committees.
