Ceyhan will soon become a regional energy center, Trend reports citing the Turkish media. The statement was made by the Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources, Hilmi Guler, during the tour of Ordu region.
The minister noted that the foreign corporations even today display great interests in the Ceyhan port.
Ankara carries out sensitive policy in the sphere of energy and plan to change the region to an energy center of Mediterranean by stages, the minister underlined. He noted that Turkey will turn out a transit country, where the interests of world energy suppliers clash.
According to the minister, as soon as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline functions in full capacity 1 million barrels of oil will be transported to the world markets, while the fact of transit of black gold via Turkey in this volume is advertisement for Turkey.
