The last meeting of the autumn session of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) has been held today, on December 29. Ogtay Asadov, Azerbaijan Speaker, said that in 2006, the Azerbaijan Parliament had held 34 meetings, passed 154 bills (two out of them are the laws to the Constitution). The Azerbaijan Parliament made 21 decisions in 2006.
The Parliament fulfilled all its authorities pointed out in the Constitution, and President Ilham Aliyev has done his best to pursue his political and social and economic strategy, said the Speaker.
He said that the MPs had carried out active work in international organizations. The Azerbaijan Speaker also said that a number of international organizations had held their meetings in Azerbaijan in 2006. Our MPs have visited many countries. Members and top officials of the parliaments of a number of countries have visited our country this year, said Mr. Asadov.
