Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend Z. Safarova / The Confederation of European Volleyball offered Azerbaijan the opportunity to host one of three pre-qualification tournaments.
The Azerbaijan Federation is considering CEV's initiative and the answer should be given soon with the consideration that the tournament will be in November. Azerbaijan's rivals during the next qualifying volleyball matches will be France, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Austria. The winners of the tournament will pass on to the next round of Olympic qualification tournaments and Azerbaijan has a chance to meet its rivals at home.
The Azerbaijani volleyball team is undergoing some difficulty regarding its composition in this season and could not play to its optimum at the European Grand Prix and the European Championships.
