Despite initial measures on struggle with the forest pests, it increased by 10 times. “The pests cause damage to forests, particularly and hinder development of plants,” he noted. Baghirov stressed that it was necessary to take appropriate measures. The government envisages allocating 5.2bn manats from the public budget in this regard.

The scientists, participated in the event, protested against use of chemicals. In their opinion, this method will also destroy forest, insects, birds and animal. They regard application of biologic measures as expedient.

The Minister gave instruction to the participants of the event to establish commission to monitor forests and take samples. The commission must develop proposals during a month.
