Ruh Journalists Defense Committee announced the results of weekly monitoring of freedom of speech in Azerbaijan, Ruh officials told Trend.
Defense Committee stated the last weeks unfavorable situation on freedom of speech in Azerbaijan. Such a statement was based on three main facts. One of them is a court proceeding, and others are hooliganism and direct violation against a journalist.
The top event of the last week was assault and battery of Baheddin Haziyev, chief editor of Our Way newspaper, committed by unrecognized persons at midnight, May 18. Haziyev was hospitalized in emergency hospital named after M.Nagiyev. in this connection Ruh addressed Minister of Interior Ramil Usubov.
