BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. Spanish Enagás Gestor Técnico del Sistema (GTS) will launch and manage the system of guarantees of origin for renewable gases, Trend reports via the company.
Upon commissioning, Enagás GTS will issue warranties of the origin of gas from renewable sources to the producing companies.
These new guarantees will provide information on where, when and how renewable gases such as green hydrogen and biogas were produced.
“Guarantees of origin will be issued both for renewable gases that are injected into the Gas System and in isolated pipelines, and for gases of renewable origin that have been produced with off-grid logistics (transported in trucks or tankers) or that have been used for own consumption in the production facilities themselves,” the company said.
The project will be implemented in two stages. First, the register of users and production facilities must be set up by January 2023, and second - the issuing of guarantees of origin - by March 2023.
