Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / To finance large projects, with the budget of more than AZN 50mln, the Azerbaijani banking sector is discussing the possibility of establishment of bank pool, Chingiz Asadullaev, the chairman of Supervisory Council of Azerigaz Bank, said on 8 October. Azerigaz Bank acts as initiator of cooperated pool.
Presently, the negotiations on this issue and attraction foreign investors in this project are carried out with 3-4 local banks. He did not name the banks, but noted that pool should be strong in risk shares on loans "As minimum three banks should be represented in the pool. If it is interesting, their number can be higher," the head of the Azerigaz Bank said. The negotiations n financing the projects of the future bank pool are held with the international financial institutes.
Pool can finance projects in the industry sector and construction sphere.
Unification within the pools will be the first practice in the Azerbaijani bank sphere. Now only insurance companies have such practice. They share risks, so that to leave more finance in the country.
