German University and Azerbaijani Agriculture Academy Sign Memorandum

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr V.Mammadova / Azerbaijan is in need of development of ecologic economy and has necessary conditions, Hartmut Vogtman, the President of the German Agency for Nature Protection, said during the meeting, held at the Azerbaijani Agriculture Academy on 8 October.

Vogtman's visit to Azerbaijan will give impetus to the development of ecologic economy. He will also participate in the opening ceremony of a new specialty on ecologic economy in the Ganja Agriculture Academy.

Hartmut said that he wants to expand relations between the Academy and the Kassels University of Germany.

"We know that Bologna system is applied in this Academy and it means that you are becoming closer to the European education system. We appraise it and are eager to continue cooperation in this sphere," Hartmut said. Special workshops will be organized at the universities of Germany and Azerbaijan with the participation the teachers from the Academy and the Kassels University. Moreover, the exchange of teachers and students is also planned.

Hatrun touched upon the role of the non-governmental organizations (NGO) in the movement of the ecologic agriculture of Azerbaijan and appraised activities of the Ganja Agro-business Association (GAA).

"We attract NGOs to this movement. The opening of ecologic faculty in GAA is very important. I am sure that 16 students selected by specialists of this organization, will get perfect education knowledge in this sphere," he said.

The Kassels University of Germany and the Academy will sign a memorandum on joint cooperation in the ecology sphere and 1- and 2-months courses on BS and MS will be organized in Azerbaijan and Kassels University.
