Azerbaijan and Cuba Sign Cooperation Protocol in Nine Spheres

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. А.Badalova / A protocol was signed between Azerbaijan and Cuba on development of cooperation in trade, industry, energy, finance, agriculture, education, tourism and sport spheres, stated the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development.

The protocol was signed as a result of the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commissions of Azerbaijan and Cuba. The meeting was held in Havana on 30 November. Attending the meeting by the Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev.

The sides agreed to encourage relations between the countries. The protocol envisages an information exchange between the Cuba Foreign Investments and Economic Cooperation Ministry and Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development in foreign investments spheres.

Moreover, the document causes expansion of cooperation between the Azerbaijani Oil Academy and Cuban Technical Oil Institute.

There are plans to improve cooperation between the Cuban Trade Chamber and Azerbaijani Export and Investment Promoting Fund (AZPROMO). The Cuban tourist companies will be invited to take part at the exhibition of tourism and travel AITF-2008, which will be held in Baku from 16 to 18 April 2008.

The second meeting of the joint commission will be held in Baku in 2008.
