Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 January / Trend / In 2007 the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan transferred AZN 771,9mln of customs payments from the total volume of foreign trade in the amount of $10.96bln to the state budget, Aydin Aliyev, the head of the Customs Committee, said during the consultation of the Cabinet of Ministers, dedicated to the socio-economic development of the state in 2007 and plans for 2008. The yearly forecast on transferring have been fulfilled by 100,3% in 2007, which is by 50% more as compared to 2006.
According to Aliyev, about 47 facts of illegal drug trafficking was revealed. Some 124kg of drug, a lot of historical and cultural goods and religious books were seized.
The State Customs Committee budget forecasts for 2008 are estimated in AZN 1.1bln against AZN 770mln in 2007.
