The EBRD 2009 Annual Meeting and Business Forum will take place in London at the EBRD Headquarters May 15-16 on the occasion of the Annual Meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors, the bank said in a message.
The impact of the credit crunch and ensuing global financial crisis on the EBRD in the region will be the focus of discussions under the overall theme of the meeting: "Investing for the Future: Opportunities in a Tougher Climate." Topics will examine the origins of the crisis and lessons to be learned, while looking at solutions to provide sustainable economic growth across the region.
Azerbaijan will be represented by a delegation headed by the country's manager at the EBRD, Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
Since the beginning of its operations in Azerbaijan, the EBRD's funding to Azeri projects has totaled $1 million; together with co-financed projects - $4 billion.
Azerbaijan joined the EBRD in 1992. Presently, nearly all the country's infrastructural projects have been implemented with the bank's participation. The EBRD is interested in implementing projects aimed at developing Azerbaijan's regions and private sector.
