The Iranian deputy commerce minister said the recent anti-Iran resolution passed by the Security Council has had no impact on the country's trade.
Trade Promotion Organization Director Babak Afqahi claimed that imposing sanctions against a country with some $100 billion worth of trade, over $800 billion GNP, and business transactions with 160 countries is not possible.
The Iranian official pointed out that a workgroup had been assigned to resolve problems caused for Iranian businesses in field of banking, insurance, and customs due to the sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network reported.
He asserted that the main part of Iran's trade with other countries has not been affected by the imposed restrictions against Tehran.
In the first three months of the Iranian calendar year (started March 20) non-oil exports (gas condensates excluded) to 108 countries grew 27 percent compared to the same period last year and topped $5.8 billion, he stated.
The Iranian commerce official noted that in the mentioned period Iran closed $930 million worth of technical and engineering contracts with 7 countries showing a 34 percent rise compared to last year.
