The Azerbaijani insurance companies' premiums on compulsory insurance on labor ability loss in production amounted to 5.959.671.56 manat in January -March 2011, the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry reported. The figure threefold increased compared to January-February.
"Payments on this type of insurance for this period have not yet been implemented," the ministry's report reads.
To date, only three life insurance companies that are licensed to provide services for compulsory insurance on labor ability loss in production operate in Azerbaijan; they are Ateshgah Heyat, Qala Heyat and Pasha Heyat.
Some 28 insurance companies and one reinsurance company operate in Azerbaijan today.
