Kazakhstan will for the first time launch supplies of its locomotives abroad.

Kazakhstan's Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty plant signed a contract yesterday in Dushanbe with the Tajik State Unitary Enterprise Rohee Ohani Tojikiston [Tajik Railways] for the supply of six Kazakh locomotives to Tajikistan, KAZNEX INVEST reported.

"This contract with Tajikistan comes as the first deal for the sale of Kazakh diesel locomotives abroad," KAZNEX INVEST quoted Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty's Vice President on Commercial and Foreign Economic Relations Andrei Ershov as saying.

Export contract on supply of Kazakh diesel locomotives followed after the presentations at the III International Railway Salon Expo 1520 (September 7-10, Scherbinka, Moscow Region, Russia). KAZNEX INVEST supported company's participation in this event.

KAZNEX INVEST is one of Kazakhstan's national development institutions designed to promote diversification of the national economy by creating more favorable conditions for development and advancement of Kazakhstan's non-commodity exports and foreign direct investment in priority sectors of the economy.
