Non-oil exports via Iran’s Anzali Free Zone up 89 per cent

Some 44 million dollars' worth of non-oil products were exported via Iran's Anzali Free Zone in the first six months of the current calendar year (ended September 22, 2011), showing an 89 per cent rise compared to the same period last year, the zone's managing director stated.

Around 259 million dollars' worth of goods were also transited via the zone in the same period, Alireza Bahmani told the ISNA news agency.

It was emphasised that the Anzali Free Zone has the potential to be turned into a strong commercial hub for the Caspian Sea states.
