Kazakhstan will increase its investments in the non-source of raw materials sector to overcome the next global crisis, said President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"Our country is entering an era of large-scale modernisation. Investment in the non-raw materials sector of the economy is set to grow by 15 per cent in 2017. This will significantly increase the share of manufacturing of the GDP," the President said, speaking at the regular congress of the Nur Otan party.

According to Mr Nazarbayev, the world is on the verge of another cliff edge, namely the next wave of global recession.

"Exports of finished products will increase by 40 per cent by 1.5 times and industrial manufacturing will increase, production of metallurgy will double, the chemical and light industry products will meet the needs of the domestic market. In general, our vision of future takes into account the main challenges of the 21st century" he added.
