The Kazakh government must establish a package of bills to join the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the opening of the second session of the Kazakh Parliament today.

"It is necessary to improve the legal basis for economic growth," Nazarbayev said. "The main issue is to ensure effective economic relations in Kazakhstan in terms of the integration processes within the Single Economic Space and the forthcoming accession to the WTO."

He instructed the government to form a special package of bills on certifying Kazakhstan's commitments taken while joining the WTO.

"Our policy must be based on an hourly analysis and long term forecast of regional markets," he said. "It is important to reconsider the whole system of support for Kazakh content, particularly in the manufacturing industry and agricultural complexes."
