Kazakh National Bank is considering the possibility of reducing of the maximum annual percentage rate on bank loans

By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kazakh National Bank is considering the possibility of reducing of the maximum annual percentage rate on bank loans, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported on Jan. 21 with the reference to National Bank's head Kairat Kelimbetov.

Currently the maximum annual percentage rate is set at 56 percent.

"This year, we are thinking of reducing the rate and we are starting to discuss this issue with the banks," Kelimbetov said at a briefing in Almaty.

Moreover, the head of the National Bank confirmed the information on planning measures to curb growth in unsecured consumer lending in the country.
