A private livestock complex has been put into operation in the Tejen etrap (district) of the Akhal province (region) of Turkmenistan, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) said in a statement.

The complex was built by a local private enterprise "Azapkesh" and it is designed for the annual production of 3,000 tons of milk and 100 tons of meat.

Some 600 hectares of land have been allocated for the construction of this facility, of which nine hectares are intended for livestock farms and 591 hectares for the cultivation of forage crops. Clover, corn and barley are planted on a vast area.

"In addition to local breeds, 338 heads of cattle of elite breeds from Germany and Ukraine are kept in the farm which have given birth to 340 calves," the message said.
