By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Iranian exports to Russia have increased by 36 percent in 2018, when compared to the figures from 2017, said Farhad Parand, commercial attaché at Iran's embassy in Russia, Trend reports referring to the information portal of Iran's Trade Promotion Organization (TPO).

In 2018, the trade turnover of Iran and Russia increased by 2 percent when compared to last year, and reached $1.74 billion, adding that Iranian exports to Russia in 2018 amounted to $533 million, despite this figure standing at $392 million in 2017.

"The main products exported to Iran by Russia were pistachios, raisins, dates, apples, cucumbers, tomatoes, fish, crèche, milk, cheese, tea, kiwi, cabbage, lettuce, copper, floating vehicles, cement, rubber, and chemical industry products" he said.

According to Parand, ceasing the use of the US dollar in the trade turnover, increasing payments between the two countries with national currencies, and implementing the agreements on the solution of customs problems will help to increase the trade turnover between the two countries.

Since the beginning of the work of the trade attaché mission of the Iranian Embassy in Russia, Iran's exports to Russia rose from $300 million in 2016 to $533 million in 2018.
