Profits of Georgian banks increases by 27.1 million lari

Commercial banks in Georgia made a profit of 138.26 million lari in January-June 2019, which is 27.1 million lari more than the same period in 2018, Trend reports with reference to commersant.ge.

According to the reports of commercial banks, in January-June 2018, banks earned a total of 111.15 million lari by buying and selling foreign currency.

For the second quarter of 2019, the Bank of Georgia received 56.41 million lari from operations with foreign currency, TBC Bank – 44.45 million lari, VTB Bank – 16.29 million lari, Liberty Bank – 5.17 million lari, Cartu Bank – 2.35 million lari, Credo Bank – 1.80 million lari.

Own capital of the country's banking sector increased by 1.7 percent - up to 5.22 billion lari.

Return on assets (ROA) amounted to 2.1 percent, return on equity (ROE) - 16.2 percent.

In January-June 2019, Georgian banks received a net profit of 360.8 million lari, which is 12.1 percent less than the same period last year.
