The export of Azerbaijani products to Moldova increased 13 times from January through June 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee.
According to the committee, the export of Azerbaijani products to Moldova in the first half of this year amounted to $3.3 million, while in the same period of last year this indicator was $253,000. The share of Moldova in the total export of Azerbaijan increased from 0 to 0.04 percent of the total volume of export.
In 1H2020, foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Moldova amounted to $5.2 million, an increase of 2.3 times over the year.
In the reporting period, the volume of import of Moldavian products to Azerbaijan declined by 0.7 percent, amounting to $1.9 million. Moldova’s share in the total import of Azerbaijan increased from 00.3 to 0.04 percent of the total volume of import.
The foreign trade balance of the two countries for the reporting period was positive and surpassed $1.3 million.
In the first six months of 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $12.6 billion, having decreased by 34.1 percent year-on-year. The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis declined by 10 percent and remained negative, amounting to $2.6 billion.
