Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange down

A total of 1.77 million tons of goods worth more than 127 trillion rials (about $3.02 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (January 8 through January 13, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is a decrease of 37 percent in value and 16.5 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (January 1 through January 6, 2022).

So, 2.12 million tons of goods worth more than 202 trillion rials (about $4.82 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, about 1.31 million tons of goods worth about 68.1 trillion rials (about $1.62 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

The main products sold in this section were cement, steel, iron ore, sponge iron, zinc, aluminum, copper, molybdenum concentrate, gold bars concentrate and etc.

In addition, about 445,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 56.7 trillion rials (about $1.35 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

The main products sold in this section were vacuum bottom, bitumen, polymer substances, chemicals, lube cut, base oil, sulfur, argon and etc.

Furthermore, about 10,200 tons of various products worth about 1.95 trillion rials (about $46.4 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
