BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. Kazakhstan is ready to actively develop mutually beneficial cooperation with Türkiye in the field of agriculture, Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev said during a meeting with General Director of Plant Production of the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Mehmet Hasdemir in Astana, Trend reports on October 15 via the Kazakh ministry.

Karashukeyev noted that this, in particular, concerns cooperation in the field of seed production, testing of crop varieties and the exchange of genetic materials of agricultural plants.

He also suggested the Turkish delegation intensify the work of research institutes to conduct joint scientific research in the field of crop production.

"We highly appreciate the fraternal relations and mutual understanding between our countries, and note with satisfaction the stable development of Kazakh-Turkish relations in the field of agriculture," added the minister.

The trade turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and Türkiye in the first seven months of 2022 amounted to $177.3 million, which is 77.6 percent more than in the same period of 2021.

Kazakhstan exports to Türkiye mainly oil, wheat and other agricultural crops, and imports sunflower seeds and confectionery from the country.
