Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Executive Director of the Coordination Office of European Union's Program of Technical Assistance to Azerbaijan (Tacis), Rufat Mammadov, stated that the Government of Azerbaijan expects commentaries from the European Commission with regards to the 2007 indicative program for Azerbaijan within the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP).
The program is expected to be confirmed at the end of October, beginning of November 2007. The ENP's 2007 budget for Azerbaijan has been defined in the amount of €19 mln.
Under the ENP, the European Commission plans to provide technical aid in three priority directions - right management, democratic elections, improvement of legislation; economical reforms, financial sector, regional development; and energy, transport and infrastructure.
The European Commission intends to finance two programs under Tacis and MEDA. The 2007-2010 ENP budget for Azerbaijan is intended to be in the amount of €92 mln.
