January to September 2008, Azerbaijan imported 233.6ml kWh of electricity,
which is 65.9% less than in the same period of 2007. The imported electricity
cost more than $9.1mln, which is 55.3% less than in the same period of last
year.
Of the total products imported in 2008, cement clinkers accounted for 639,000
tons (up 18.7% than 2007) worth $19.4mln (down 32.6% than 2007). Cement import
totalled 890,700 tons (up 33.2% than 2007) worth $39mln (up 17.9% than 2007).
During January to September 2008, the country imported 434,700 gas, water and
electricity meters, which is 40.3% less than in nine months of 2007. The meters
cost over $24mln, which is 10.5% more than in the same period of 2007.
