Iran is studying transit routes to transport gas to Europe via the Fars pipeline.

Transit routes via Iran-Turkey-Greece-Italy and Iran-Iraq-Syria-Mediterranean-Europe are being analyzed, Iranian Deputy Petroleum Minister on Foreign Relations Hossein Nogrekar Shirazi said in an interview with Trend .

"Iran has the second largest gas stocks after Russia. We intend to implement a gas pipeline project to deliver gas to Europe and Asia. We are considering other projects on liquefied gas," Shirazi said.

Iran is reviewing three transit routes to implement the project.

Tehran may also consider taking part in the Nabucco pipeline project.

"Iran is ready to asses proposals to participate in the project," Shirazi said.

Nabucco will not be successful without Iranian gas, he added.
