Azerbaijan is ready to provide its territory for transit of gas through a transparent value, corresponding to the European prices, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) senior representative said, commenting on possibility of transporting natural gas from Central Asia through the Republic's territory.
"Azerbaijan at all levels declared that it is ready in case the desire of any gas producers to provide long-term, transparent tariffs for transit on the European prices", the SOCAR representative said.
Earlier, Italian Eni offered SOCAR to participate in project of transportation of 8.6 billion cubic meters of gas from Turkmenistan. This project envisages the transportation of compressed gas across the Caspian Sea by the vessels.
Previously, the sides agreed that the working group of SOCAR and Eni will study the whole range of issues under this project, in particular, technical, legal and commercial issues.
