AI-98 petrol produced in Azerbaijan, will be dyed green to protect the rights of consumers, SOCAR said today.
SOCAR, having two refineries on its balance sheet, is the only producer of oil products in Azerbaijan.
According to the report, this brand of petrol will be dyed green on the basis of changes made to petrol standards. These include the information on the types and volume of oxygenate to be used in petrol production. According to the amendments, AI-92 petrol, produced in Azerbaijan, is dyed red.
At present, the Heydar Aliyev Refinery produces petrol of three types (AI-92, AI-95 and AI-80). Around 94.6 per cent of the total volume of petrol production falls to A-92, 4.7 per cent - AI-95 and 0.8 per cent - AI-80.
There are two refineries with a total capacity of 16 million tons per year in Azerbaijan. The Heydar Aliyev Refinery is focused on the production of light petroleum products, whilst the Azneftyag refinery has dark petroleum products.
