Ukrtransnafta PJSC, operator of the oil transportation system of Ukraine, has put up 15,000 tons of Azerbaijani oil of Azeri Light grade for e-trading at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange, to be held July 31, the exchange said in a message July 30.

The oil is offered from the tanks of the Yuzhny offshore oil terminal.

Another 60,000 tons of Azeri Light, which is subject to sale at open exchange trading, are stored in the tanks of the offshore terminal, the Ukrainian media reported. It is noted that Ukrtransnafta has sold at the exchange 35,000 tons of oil of this brand from the Yuzhny offshore oil terminal as of now. Some 30,000 tons have been purchased by Privat Group, 5,000 tons – by Ukrgazdobycha PJSC.

Ukrtransnafta successfully sold 42,800 tons of Azeri Light, not involved in the operation of the oil transportation system, at the exchange trades in the second half of 2017. Ukrgazdobycha PJSC purchased 10,800 tons of Azeri Light from this volume.

Last year, Ukrtransnafta resumed operation of the oil pipeline from Odessa to Kremenchug and began to deliver Azeri Light to the Kremenchug refinery.

The Kremenchug refinery has been processing Azeri Light since December 2016, but earlier oil was supplied to the factory by rail.

The oil of Azeri Light grade is produced at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block of fields in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan produced seven million tons of light oil in 1Q2018, which roughly corresponds to the level of production at the block in the first quarter of last year.
