Iran is attempting to reduce its reliance on oil exports in the next calendar year (starts on March 21, 2019) budget plan.

"The next year budget plan bill should reduce the costs and dependency on oil. Iran should move towards the "economic resistance", if the budget is not drafted this way, it would not succeed," Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani said, Trend report via IRNA.

"The budget plan during the sanctions should be different from other times, it is necessary to pay attention to specific issues," he said.

Larijani noted that the government should be committed to draft of the next year budget plan.

The Iranian official insisted that the obstacles on foreign investments should be resolved.

"During the sanctions period and the pressure against Iran, the country should use the researches and data of other countries," he suggested.

"We should use the experience of other countries, especially the South East Asian countries, including China, Malaysia and Russia that have similarities to our country," he added.

"In a normal situation, Iran wouldn't have the production approach, but today the county is sanctioned and should move towards the domestic production," he said.

Larijani said that in the period of sanctions Iran needs proper decision making and immediate action measures.

"At the moment, the complexities of economic issues require group work and collaboration," he said.
