The German Siemens is interested in participating of the project for reconstruction of the Azerbaijani Hydro Electrical Power Station (AZHEPS) in Mingechavir. The issue of the applications submission and participation of Siemens in the project will depend on the terms and conditions of the tender and determined by the tender documentation, the company’s spokesman in Azerbaijan Samir Ahundov.
The project with the total amount of $135 million is planned to finance by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the volume of $100 million.
The project of reconstruction of 8 operating energy blocks of AZHEPS, constructed in 80s of the XX century, is envisioned in the “State Program on Development of the fuel-energy complex of the Azerbaijan’ Republic (2005-2015 годы)". Its implementation, according to the document, is scheduled for 2005-2008.
