Akif Narimanov, the Senior Geologist of Azneft Production Association of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), announced that SOCAR is considering opportunities for drilling two exploration wells on the Turkan prospective field.
Narimanov said that in 1950 two productive wells were spudded on this area. The drilling of exploration wells is scheduled for next year and relevant arrangements have been set up. One of the wells will be drilled at a depth of 3,400 meters and another at a depth of 4,200 meters. The approximate withdrawal is expected to consist of 40-50 tons. The appraisal of reserves will be carried out upon completion of exploration.
