Private sector holds lead in Azerbaijan's export data

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15

Azerbaijan exported products worth a total of $6.3 billion from January through April 2020, which is 11 percent less compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports with reference to the report of the country’s State Customs Committee (SCC).

The public sector's share in exports amounted to $3.1 billion, which makes about 49.4 percent of the total export. The share of the private sector (legal entities) is $3.2 million, or 50.3 percent of the total export. İndividuals accounted for the remaining $14.3 million.

In total, Azerbaijan exported 1,951 and imported 6,493 types of goods, conducting foreign trade operations with 161 partner countries. Most of all, from January through April 2020, Azerbaijan exported oil and oil products, electricity, fruits and vegetables, as well as products of the chemical industry.
