Most of Azerbaijan's SOFAZ assets placed in USD

Most of the assets of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) were placed in US dollars, Trend reports with reference to SOFAZ.

As reported, the share of these assets is 68.6 percent.

“Another 19.9 percent of assets are in the euro, 4.9 percent in the UK pounds, 1.4 percent - in the Japanese yen, 1.3 percent - in the Chinese yuan, 0.7 percent - in the Russian ruble, 0.6 percent - in the Turkish lira, and the Australian dollar each, 2 percent - in other currencies,” the fund said.

According to SOFAZ, about a third (30.45 percent) of the funds of its investment portfolio was placed in European countries, 26.07 percent - in North America, 21.43 percent - in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, 1.36 percent - in the Middle East, 1.16 percent - in Australia and New Zealand, and the remaining 0.04 percent - in South America.

“Also, 62.9 percent - of the SOFAZ investment portfolio was placed in bonds and money market tools, 17.9 percent - in shares, 6.1 percent - in real estate, 13.1 percent - in gold,” the report said.

Some 56.2 percent of the SOFAZ funds were placed in AAA high-rating assets, 14.1 percent - in AA and 19.8 percent - in A.
