The Azerbaijani Health Ministry issued about 210,000 e-health cards, Deputy Spokesman Jabrayil Asadzade told Trend .
Jabrayil Asadzade said that the ministry's all maternity hospitals, maternity wards of hospitals and children's hospitals have been connected to the system. A local network was established between the subdivisions of the ministry, which facilitates rapid exchange of official information. E-card contains data on citizen's identity (on health, social insurance, and pension). The data provided by the health facilities are included in a database through a local network.
Automating medical records about patients simplifies search of the necessary information and shortens time of diagnosis. The project is implemented under the state program on "Electronic Azerbaijan".
E-health cards are produced in the Ministry's centre of public health reform and provided freely to parents through the clinics.
