Azerbaijan overcame critical bound on use of Internet

IT-sphere in Azerbaijan is the most dynamic today. The country managed to overcome a critical bound of 5% of Internet-users within the countrys population, Trend reports quoting Yashar Hajiyev, director of Analytical Center for Information Policy and national coordinator for Global Internet Policy Initiative.

В"Such progress is proved by development of Azerbaijans IT-sphere that is second best after oil sectorВ", - Hajiyev said.

He also said IT-structures in the country today total 3,000, from which 50 are large IT-companies famous outside Azerbaijan.

В"Number of ISP-companies in Azerbaijan exceeds 25, while in Georgia it is some 15В", - Hajiyev underlined.

В"Azerbaijans national traffic is nearly 300 Mbit/sec, while in Georgia does not exceed 40-50 mbit/secВ", - he concluded.
