In accordance with the plan of measures on the state program of development of information and communication technologies in Azerbaijan for 2005-2008 (Electronic Azerbaijan), taking into account the articles On Creation of the National Centre for the Population Health Monitoring in Different Medical Electronic Registers (2005-2008), Creation of the Citizens Health Electronic Card System, and Creation and Introduction of Model Medical Information System aimed at Providing of the Medical Care Institutions by Azerbaijan`s health Ministry, rules on introduction of the electronic health card system being adopted by Azerbaijan`s Cabinet of Ministers have been prepared.
The first stage on the establishment of the information center has been completed, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijan`s telecommunication and Information Technologies ministry. The area for the centre has already been allocated, repair works have been completed, and the local network infrastructure has been put into commission.
At present, works on preparation of the technical task concerning the introduction of Electronic Health Card are carried out the Health Ministry pointed out.
In addition, till the end of 2006, Health Ministry`s information center's providing with equipment and software.
As to the medical information system, here works on its creating will be launched in 2007. Preparation works to prepare the technical task is expected to be carried out this year.
