Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The State Veterinary Service at the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry will discuss the results of measures against brucellosis in a range of Azerbaijani regions.
Yolchu Khanvali, the Press-Secretary of the State Service, has stated that measures are held in the Agstafa, Gazakh and Tovuz regions of Azerbaijan. Blood samples taken from the animals have been submitted to the laboratory for testing for the brucellosis virus. The results of measures and laboratory examinations held in the Imishli and Bilasuvar regions will be announced in the near future.
Previous laboratory examinations have revealed the infection of brucellosis in cattle. The State Service has made every effort to decrease the number of infections in 2007.
Rabies is a virus which attacks the nervous system resulting in death.
