Azerbaijan exported 896,600 tons of cargo by ships from January through February 2021, which is 7.5 percent less than in 2M2020, Trend reports on Mar.17 referring to a report from the State Customs Committee.
The total share of cargo transited by sea reached 1,384 tons or 97.4 percent of all cargo transportation in the volume of 1,348 tons.
Some 2,200 passengers were transported by ships in the reporting period, which is a decline of 31.2 percent in annual terms.
Some 41.8 percent of Azerbaijan’s export shipments accounted for oil cargo.
As earlier reported, the volume of cargo transportation by all types of vehicles in the country from January through February this year amounted to 30.3 million tons, of which 3 percent fell on sea freight traffic.
