Iran’s PMO records surge in port operations at Bandar Lengeh port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by about 28.2 percent in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2022), compared to the 10th month (December 22, 2021 through January 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 156,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 11th month. So, 128,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 27,600 tons were unloaded.

About 122,000 tons of cargo were exported and 7,740 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port over the 11th month.

"Furthermore, 19,700 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for transit. Also, 5,950 tons of cargo were loaded and 115 tons were unloaded for cabotage during the reporting month," the statistics said.

As well as, 90 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for other purposes.

In general, 74,800 tons of essential products, 29 tons of metal products, 55,700 tons of construction and mining materials, 21,000 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 1,720 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the 11th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 711 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 90 tons of small and assorted products and 1,390 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.

About 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 11th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.11 million tons were loaded and 6.49 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 14.3 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
