Electricity distribution network of the European side of Istanbul Bogaziçi Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ is fully put up for privatization, Turkish State Privatization Agency said on Wednesday.
Twelve companies have already appealed to participate in the tender. Tender will continue until late 2012.
Previously, Turkey has announced a tender to privatize electricity distribution network Akdeniz Elektrik Dağıtım, which provides Antalya, Isparta and Burdur with electricity.
Earlier Energy and Natural Resources Minister of Turkey Taner Yildiz reported that Turkey intends to continue the policy of privatization of the energy sector, in particular electricity and gas distribution sector.
