Three ministries reorganized in Kazakhstan

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree reorganizing three ministries, the presidential press-service reported.

According to presidential decree, Kazakh Health and Social Development Ministry was divided into Labor and Social Protection Ministry and Health Ministry. The powers were also divided between two ministries correspondingly.

The Investment and Development Ministry will transfer its powers in the sphere of tourism activities to the Culture and Sports Ministry, but remain responsible for export promotion.

Moreover the National Economy Ministry will transfer some of its functions to other ministries. Thus, the ministry’s powers for implementation of the state policy in the population’s sanitary and epidemiological welfare will be transferred to the Health Ministry.
Kazakh Energy Ministry will get its powers in formation and implementation of state policy in the field of electricity, heating and gas supply.

Kazakh National Economy Ministry’s powers in formation and implementation of the state policy in architecture, urban planning, construction, housing relations, water supply, drainage, utilities and waste management will pass to the Investment and Development Ministry.

The decree comes into force on the date of signing.
