ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 16. Turkmenistan's cooperation with Pakistan's National Logistics Corporation (NLC) will significantly increase the volume of cargo transportation along the China-Pakistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan route, providing access to the Central Asian and Caspian regions, Trend reports via Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry.

According to information, this was stated at the meeting of Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.

In the course of the talks, the sides discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation and key areas of partnership. One of the central issues was the strengthening of cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, with a special emphasis on cooperation with major Pakistani companies.

Moreover, other aspects of the Turkmen-Pakistani partnership were also discussed, including political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.

The delegation of Turkmenistan is in Pakistan to participate as a guest of honor at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
