Uzbekistan reveals volume of industrial production in Tashkent for 2M2021

The enterprises of Tashkent from January through February 2021 produced industrial products worth 8.7 trillion soums ($829 million), Trend reports with reference to the press service of the administration of Tashkent.

According to the administration of the city, the largest share in the structure of industry fell on the share of production, amounting to 63.3 percent.

Thus, the share of the mining and metallurgical industry and the processing of open pits in the total volume of industrial production for 2M2021 in Tashkent amounted to 2.2 trillion soums ($210 million), while manufacturing industry accounted for 5.5 trillion soums ($524 million).

At the same time, provision of electricity, gas, steam, as well as air conditioning during the reported period amounted to 0.8 trillion soums ($76 million) and water supply, sewerage system, waste collection and disposal - 0.2 trillion soums ($19 million).

In addition, in the mining industry and open pits in Tashkent, the production of certain types of industrial products by large enterprises, including the extraction of crushed stone, increased 10.4 times.

In January 2021 it was reported that the decrease in physical volume of industrial production in Uzbekistan in January 2021 was mainly caused by the production decrease in the mining industry.

According to the committee, in January 2021, enterprises of the country produced industrial products worth 26.8 trillion soums ($2.5 billion). It is noted that the index of the physical volume of industrial production by the same period in 2020 amounted to 98.8 percent.

In the structure of industrial output of the country, the largest share falls on enterprises in Tashkent (14.8 percent of the republican volume of industry), Navoi (21.6 percent), Tashkent (19 percent), Kashkadarya (5.4 percent) and Fergana (5.1 percent) regions.
