BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 1. Uzbekistan plans to build solar photovoltaic stations with a capacity of 30-40 MW and more at the Syrdarya, Mubarek, Torakurgan and Talimarjan Thermal Power Plants (TPPs) in 2023-2024,Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.

Currently, Uzbekistan’s Uzbekenergotamir JSC is building solar photovoltaic stations with a capacity of 1,800-2,000 kW at the facilities of the Fergana and Syrdarya TPPs.

The implementation of these projects creates an opportunity to cover the electricity consumed by TPPs for their own and economic needs at the expense of alternative energy sources.

As a result, an average saving of 200 million kWh of electricity per year will be achieved.
