The Iranian Culture Ministry's Media Control Department warned 17 known pro-governmental and opposition periodical printed publications, IRINN reported.

The department warned the magazines 'Nasle Emrooz '( 'Generation today'), 'Banu-e Shargi' ( 'Woman of the East'), 'Aiene zendegi-e' ( 'Mirror of Life'), 'Payamavar' ( 'Bulletin'), 'Sepidar', 'Pishhan', 'Zendegi-e Iran' (' Life in Iran'), 'Medad Rang', 'Zendegi-e ideal' ( 'Ideal life'), 'Ruyesh', 'Kuhenur', 'Tohid' , 'Rahe zendegi' ( 'Life path' ), 'Cinema-e Emrooz' ( 'Cinema Today' ),'Chilchrah' , 'Football' and the newspaper 'Bahar'.

The agency named mismatch thrust of these publications and the covered events, the spread of false information and distortion of the image of the national flag as reasons for the warning.

Earlier, in January 2009, the department warned 15 Iranian newspapers.
