Iran factory blast: bodies continue to pile up

The death toll in as a result of blast at Ghadir Steel Plant in Iran has risen up to 12 people, ILNA reported. Previously, 10 people were reported dead.

As of now, there are 12 people dead, and 11 injured as a result of the blast. Eight of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.

There is no official statement on the cause of the blast.

On Sunday, an explosion occured at the Ghadir Steel Plant in Yazd, central Iran, killing 7 people and injuring 12 more, IRNA news agency reported.

The manager and some officials of the factory were detained after the incident. The incident occurred at 19:15 hours on Sunday. Reportedly one of the furnaces at the factory blew up, however investigation is underway to reveal real causes of the explosion.
